There are many facets of Stucco Repair. In Georgia, and in particular Metro Atlanta, the beautiful natural surrounding have many benefits as well as pitfalls. Birds and squirrels love the surroundings as well, and can be quite a nuisance.  Leaves on the roof can clog gutters and dam valleys behind chimneys and dormers. EIFS has many enemies. golfers, lawn mowers, weed whackers, eggs (especially nasty!), even a well meaning pressure washer can cause damage.

Atlanta gets over 50 inches of rain a year. Water is the number one enemy of ALL types of exterior cladding- Brick, cedar, stone, EIFS, or hard coat Stucco. Properly installed sealants, flashing, and properly operating drainage from the house (clean gutters) will prevent many major repairs. If you are reading this though, you are probably well aware of that- for the wrong reasons.

Grade Cut

A common installation error is allowing EIFS to extend below the ground. EIFS is cut above the grade, removed, and finished seamlessly or with a decorative band.

Sealants

Frequently the caulking around doors and windows is not applied, or neglected. Any break in the barrier here can cause big problems

Flashing

Poorly installed, or missing flashing can cause water intrusion along walls adjacent to roof lines.

Tear off

This is a reinstallation of siding.

Painting

Painting for exterior EIFS or Hard Coat Stucco using Elastomeric wall coatings which are applied in thick films to proctect against moisture intrusion.

Carpentry
