Adding Decorative Bands and Sealants mitigate water damage

Adding bands to any of the openings- windows, doors- adds a nice touch to the appearance of a stucco home, but there are other benefits as well. Wooden windows take a punishing in Georgia with our wet weather, and adding a band over the top of exposed wood provides a drip edge above that helps prevent water from running down the face of the wood. As well, when we install bands, the bottom horizontal band has a bevel away from the window to allow water to run off without pooling against the wood. Here is a before and after from a sealant job we performed on a home in northeast Atlanta. The before shot isn't completely before as we have started the work. As we come up with better pictures we will update the site.
